  Our materials have also evolved in recent years, and today there are virtually no limits to the variety of ways in which steel can be used. Increasingly strong connections allow for ever slimmer structures, and improved manufacturing techniques increase the performance of plants as well as the economic efficiency in production. This is made possible by fine-grained structural steel, which has reduced the weight of cranes, for example, by almost half in recent years.
